As an owner and the primary developer of the Image Vault DVR (digital video recorder), Lakeshore Software created a video security solution for several Fortune 500 companies. One particular Fortune 500 company wanted their images/videos to be accessible via the internet. At the time of the request, there was no standard for streaming video.
 

Taking a software/hardware platform that was already well established, Lakeshore Software added web server capabilities to the Image Vault DVR’s. Up to this point, very few companies had high speed internet connections in their retail locations. As the technology advanced, and connection speeds increased by factors of 10 or more, Lakeshore Software adapted an existing product to use the latest advances. Taking an existing Digital Video Recorder and turning it into a web server is just one example of how we can adapt to the latest technology innovations.
